Chinese shares open slightly lower tracking Wall Street losses

BEIJING, April 15 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares opened slightly lower on Wednesday following Wall Street losses overnight.


The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index was down 0.5 percent to 2,514.59. The Shenzhen Component Index dropped 0.51 percent to 9,629.22 at the opening.

On Wall Street, the Dow Jones industrial average lost 1.7 percent to 7,920.18, while the broader Standard Poor's 500 index fell 2 percent to 841.50.

BEIJING, April 13 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Monday with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.98 percent to 2,468.08.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 1.11 percent to 9,449.51 at the opening.

Credit extended by China's banks in the first quarter hit a record 4.58 trillion yuan (670 billion U.S. dollars), the People's Bank of China (PBOC) said Saturday.

Chinese shares open slightly higher

BEIJING, April 7 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares opened slightly higher on Tuesday morning, after the government announced the much-anticipated health-care reform to fix the ailing medical system on Monday.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index went up 0.10 percent, or 2.32 points, to 2,422.10. The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.07 percent, or 6.47 points, to 9,251.13 at the opening.
