BEIJING, May 5 (Xinhua) -- Chinese shares opened higher on Tuesday with the
benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.68 percent to 2,577.43.

The Shenzhen Component Index rose 0.59 percent to 9,958.54 at the opening.
