BEIJING, Dec. 31 (Chinese media) -- The Republic of Korea (ROK) has formally approved imports of rabbit meat from China, said the country's quality supervisor here on Wednesday.
The two countries have agreed on sanitary conditions and certificate contents for the exports, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (GAQSIQ).
China produced about 620,000 tons of rabbit meat in 2007 and exported 3 percent of the total to the European Union and Russia.
"Landing the ROK [market] was a small step ... we will work together to help exporters achieve more," said GAQSIQ information office director Li Yingfeng.
