Chinese businessmen showing interests of investing more in Thailand

BANGKOK, March 13 (Chinese media) -- Chinese businessmen have shown interests of

investing more in various industries in Thailand, Industry Minister Chanchai

Chairungruang said, Thai News Agency reported Friday.

Speaking after a meeting with executives of the Sino-Thai Chamber of

Commerce in Bangkok on Thursday, Chanchai said the Thai farm product processing,

foods, electronic parts, computer, and auto part industries have attracted the

interest of the Chinese businessmen.

Some of the Chinese businessmen have also expressed interests to co-invest

with Thai counterparts in building up an industrial park to accommodate the

investments, he added.

The Industry Ministry and the Sino-Thai Chamber of Commerce would discuss

in order to find ways to put their investment plans into practice as soon as

possible, said Chanchai.

Some 200 Chinese companies, each with a business size of at least 10

billion baht (278 million U.S. dollars), will meet in Bangkok on May 25-27, to

discuss ways to increase their investments in Thailand.
