S Korea's consumer prices rise 4.1% in December

SEOUL, Dec. 31 (Chinese media) -- South Korea's consumer prices rose 4.1 percent in December from a year earlier amid falling crude oil prices, the National Statistical Office (NSO) said Wednesday.

The December inflation figure was still higher than the central bank's 2.5-3.5 percent target range for a 13th straight month.

For 2008, average consumer prices grew 4.7 percent, much higher than 2.5 percent a year earlier, the NSO said.
