HK shipping mission to visit Vietnam

HONG KONG, Feb. 25 (Chinese media) -- Hong Kong Secretary for Transport and

Housing Eva Cheng was scheduled to head a 22-member shipping mission to Vietnam

on Wednesday to promote Hong Kong's shipping and maritime services.

According to a government press release, Cheng will open a seminar on Hong

Kong's maritime industry in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday, introducing the city's

professional and world-class services in ship finance, taxation, maritime law,

arbitration, ship management and registration, and investment opportunities.

The mission will meet Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Vice Chairman

Nguyen Trung Tin and visit Saigon Port and the Maritime Vietnam 2009 Exhibition.



In Hanoi on Feb. 27, the mission will meet Vietnam's Vice Transport

Minister Tran Doan Tho and visit the Vietnam Maritime Administration.

The mission will attend lunch and dinner receptions to meet and exchange

views with key players in Vietnam's port, maritime and shipping businesses,

local government officials and trade association chairmen, the press release

said.
