BRUSSELS, March 9 (Chinese media) -- Finance ministers from the 16-nation euro zone agreed that there would be no changes for the current criteria for joining the euro zone, Eurogroup Chairman Jean-Claude Juncker said here on Monday.
"This is not the moment to start a new debate about the criteria given the current volatility," Juncker told a press conference after chairing a meeting of eurozone finance ministers.
He said that the current criteria "does not represent the end itself."
The finance ministers' position repeated that of a special summit of the EU on March 1, when several eurozone leaders proposed fast-track accession for some eastern European nations such as Poland and Hungary.
