Special Report:Global Financial Crisis
MANAGUA, March 5 (Chinese media) -- A Nicaraguan official on Thursday urged
developed countries and multilateral organizations to support poorer countries
with financial resources in order to pull through the world economic crisis.
Treasury Minister Alberto Guevara, said that developed countries and
multilateral organizations must be more flexible and support less developed
nations, which are suffering economic deceleration.
The crisis which began in 2008, will be extended without doubt to 2010,
Guevara said during the Central American and Dominican Republic Governors
Meeting.
Guevara said the world economic crisis affects the public finances of the
region's poor countries.
"Despite the world economic crisis, all countries leaders of the region
have compromised to keep the fiscal stability, to seriously work on the control
of the current expenditure, and to improve the quality of the public
expenditure," Guevara said.
