Nikkei down 3% in morning trading

TOKYO, March 6 (Chinese media) -- Tokyo stocks fell sharply Friday morning with

the key Nikkei index diving 3.07 percent.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 Average plunged 228.54 points to 7,204.95.

The broader Topix index dropped 16.45 points, or 2.22 percent, to 725.10.
