Special Report:Global Financial Crisis
TOKYO, Feb. 5 (Chinese media) -- Japan's electronics maker Sanyo announced
Thursday that its net profit dropped 36.3 percent year-on-year to 18.32 billion
yen (205.84 million U.S. dollars) in the April-December period.
Contracting sales and sharp appreciation of the yen are among the factors
behind the slump in net profit, according to Sanyo.
Meanwhile, Sanyo's consolidated operating profit plummeted by 44.9 percent
in the nine months to 30.83 billion yen (346.40 million dollars) on sales of
1.43 trillion yen (16.07 billion dollars).
